Wallpapering and its environmental impact

Wallpapering and its environmental impact
If we intend to wallpaper ourselves, we need to know the environmental factors and influences that can influence the success of wallpapering.

Material insurance

It is not advisable to start work without tools, aids, adhesives, plaster repairers, materials for foil covering and natural wallpaper. This is important because it can be very annoying when you run out of materials, lack of tools and shops are closed while working. Such problems will also affect the finished work. Lack of materials or tool requirements can cause disruptions and lead to horse running.

Wall strength

One of the most important technical requirements before starting wallpapering is to inspect the wall surface. Professionals believe that you should not wallpaper if the wall surface is crumbly, mold-stained, or has insufficient strength. Bad surfaces must be repaired according to the rules. If the wall is not of sufficient quality, re-wallpapering should be expected in a short time.

Air temperature

Wallpapering professionals know that it is not worth starting below 10°C. 48 hours before wallpapering, the wall temperature must not be colder than 6°C. A room and wall with the wrong temperature can cause a lot of annoyance and material damage, ruining the work.

Condensation

It should not be wallpapered in a room where dew point formation can be expected. This phenomenon can arise on the basis of atmospheric moisture and humidity. In this case, dampness forms on the walls, which can also cause problems with the application of wallpaper and glue.

Cleanliness

It is extremely important that complete cleanliness prevails in the room to be wallpapered. Make sure that the wallpaper is not exposed to increased contamination. During the work, dust formation and possible chemical contamination should also be taken into account. If demolition is necessary, it is worth doing them first, then cleaning and only then wallpapering.

Air draft

In poorly ventilated, too draughty rooms, it is difficult to glue wallpaper. Inadequate ventilation increases air circulation, unevenly dries the wallpaper, as a result of which the wallpaper will not be easy to slide, dries quickly and wrinkling is also to be expected.
