These wallpapers are also known as paper tapestries. This group includes those types of wallpaper that have a large weight per square meter and are made of strong and durable material. The production of these wallpapers is very complicated. It requires great expertise, special equipment and technology. The average thickness of heavy wallpapers can range from 0.3 to 1 mm. These wallpapers are very attractive and durable, but due to their thickness and weight, they cannot always be attached to the wall with glue. In such cases, special solutions must be sought. Such is tension and nailing.
Velor wallpaper
Such wallpapers are layered with textile fibers on the color side and have a textile or split leather effect. Suede got its name from the pressed, woven suede. It is produced as follows. Colorless glue with good binding power is applied to the strong paper, then textile and silk fibers are sprinkled on the glue that has not yet dried, which are worked into the glue with a pressure roller. With this process, we get a material that is pleasant to the touch, has a warm effect, but is very sensitive to dirt. Velor wallpapers can be classified into two additional groups. The entire surface of the winter coat is covered with textile powder and has a velvet effect. In the case of patterned suede (or semi-suede), only the pattern is sprinkled with powder.
Embossed wallpaper
It is also known as relief wallpaper. A heavily thickened paint mass is applied to the double layer of paper. The pattern is then achieved by intaglio or intaglio printing. At high pressure, the following occurs. First, the paint mass is spread so that it covers the whole of the wallpaper. The sample is then pressed into it with an embossing cylinder. In the case of gravure printing, the pattern is etched into the printing cylinder. The protruding pattern will be placed on the paper from this. Those who choose this type of wallpaper should know that they are quite sensitive to folding and breaking.
Saw dust wallpaper
This is a double layer paper. Sawdust is sprinkled on the glued base wallpaper, and then another layer of paper is added. Sawdust wallpapers are available in quite coarse, but also fine-grained designs. This wallpaper with a plastic effect is especially recommended for uneven surfaces.
Linkrust (linoleum) imitation wallpapers
A type of wallpaper made of strong paper, painted and later pressed. After drying, it is coated with a layer of varnish, which perfectly imitates the effect of linoleum. It is usually applied to the surface of plinths. It is also available in a natural version, in which case it must be painted after gluing.
